Green-Lantern has graciously provided me with some pictures and blurbs of his turbo rebuilding process (TD04-9b). He also made his own "snap-ring" pliers. Check this post out if you’re curious about how to do it yourself and saving tons of money. To see his comments, click here .

Stealth316 has a useful guide on how to inspect and clean your ISC/IAC attached to the throttle body. I’ve done this on several cars with idling hesitation and 75% of the time it clears the problem up. All you need is some basic tools, electronics parts cleaner, and a Sunday afternoon. Be sure not to strip the screws or lose the spring.

Do you need to replace your ball joints? As you may already know, Mitsu and Dodge won’t sell the ball joints individually, they want to sell you the entire control arm for around $800 each. Ridiculous I say. I bought mine for $35 each from "Custom Shift Boots" on 3si. Here’s his site . I was a bit lazy and paid a shop to install one. The labor cost for installing one ball joint and doing a 4-wheel alignment was $170.
Alternatively, you can get them at parts stores using the part numbers below. Surprisingly, the Hyundai Sonata has the same ball joints.

Tip of the day: If you are installing lowering springs or installing new struts, be sure that the alignment holes on strut and upper spring seat line up. I recently noticed one side had more wheel gap than the other and sure enough the holes aren’t aligned. Use a long screwdriver to make sure the holes are aligned.

If a check engine light (CEL) has come up on your gauge cluster, or you want the ability to see what your car’s computer is doing for tuning purposes, you should consider purchasing a datalogger setup to read codes and perform simple engine diagnostics. For modified twin turbo 3000GTs and Stealths, it is highly recommended you have one.
